Couple splits last night:
15 Nicholas Rossignol Santenots:
Reductive nose that blew off, dark purple in glass, showing the concentration of the 15 vintage. Nice blackberries and spice on the nose, with a very open palate with fine soft tannins. There’s a bit more spice/pepper on the palate. This paired very well with the steaks.
Krug 164:
As always, lovely toasted brioche on the nose with a hint of citrus.
Lemon zest and creamy bread pudding notes on the palate which is opulent but balanced. In a beautiful place right now. I can’t help going through these; bought more than a case of splits and have one left. COTY so far but it’s early.
