TN: Mugnier 2006 Fuees

Popped and poured at a restaurant last night, and shared. So very simply:

Wow. Silky Mugnier. Red fruits with a background cranberry note. But silky like very few can do. Within a few years of prime drinking, but will last for another 20.

Every time I pull a Mugnier from the cellar, I succumb. Just enchanting.

I have been waiting on this one. Thank you so much for the note.

When I first got into Burgundy, one thing I felt confident about, was that the the 1985, 1988, & 1999 Mugnier Musignys were among my favorites Burgs that i had sampled…

Thirty years later, I feel confident saying that the 2002 Mugnier - Chambolle - Fuees is among my favorite wines for current drinking.

The common thread, of course, is the producer.

Lovely. For me, Mugnier’s Fuees is the sweet spot of his lineup. Too bad pricing has caught up with the quality.

Have heard Mugnier Fuees outperformed the Bonne Mares for a long while, as most of the Bonne Mares vines were replanted in the 80’s.

Yes! The Fuees is the Goldilocks wine for me in the portfolio. Just the right amount of airiness, succulence and grip!
