Celebrating the wife’s 50th over the weekend! champagne.gif

  • NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée Edition 164eme - France, Champagne (1/21/2019)
Sipped on this for two days from the hotel room deck…Spectacular as always! Bright and tart freshness, with a super balance of creamy yeast and ginger…chiseled minerality, smoked sea salt, wet slate…nuanced ox. Couldn’t ask for a better wine to enjoy the cool ocean breeze, and warm sunshine! (96 pts.)

  • 2013 Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Le Corton - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru (1/21/2019)
Wonderful floral perfume nose…cherry liqueur, red licorice, dusty dried spices…little reduction, showing tight youthful structure, crunchy minerals…yet still a silky pure feel. Plenty of pleasure can be coaxed…but will definitely reward future age. +pts (93 pts.)

Lucky wifey (and I don’t doubt, lucky you to have her in your life!)

Our Krug 164 from half last week performed much the same as you describe, a lovely experience.

congrats on the milestone. No 69 red Burgs?

Love that Krug 164th. Looks like the other wines were nice too. Thanks for posting.

The 69 Dujac MsD and DP will be for MY 50th! [wow.gif] The wife likes it young!
