Forgive me if you have already seen this, but I’d like to draw your attention to https://unbound.com/books/gerard-basset/ where there are details of a crowdfunding initiative to back publication of the inspiring and absorbing memoirs of Gerard Basset, the world’s best and best-loved sommelier who so tragically left this world last Wednesday.
The background to his book is given at https://www.jancisrobinson.com/articles ... ts-memoirs
He made such an impact on so many lives around the world that, although the crowdfunding page is launched officially only today, there have already been many pledges. Any excess above 100% of the £14,000 sought to cover the costs of publishing the book will help the publication and Gerard’s widow and son Nina and Romané.
