I like how we can now tell how a Bourbon will taste by how it looks. "Looks 2 B smooth"

That page was worth a few minutes to read. At least 3 good chuckles.

"enuindos" deserves the attention it is getting but no comments on "paramount (sic) to slander"? And this sounds right out of Monty Python "you solicitator of liquid garbage stand DIY BRAND".

It’s one buck to ship two bottles.

The non-shipment of the rest of your order is free

Where can they ship this? You certainly cannot ship liquor to Oregon. Believe me if you could I would ship it from CA all the time. Certainly “illegal shipping” has been a large part of the small winery industry over the last 3 decades but liquor is a WHOLE other thing. The way that stuff has to be accounted for, tracked and reported is crazy strict. Not sure how this pencils out.

Ray may have chosen the perfect partner with Passion Spirits...

Their model appears to be that they ship from Passion Spirits to a retailer in your area. You pick it up there.

Hmm....retailers in KY may only accept shipments from distributors in KY. So apparently no one in KY can (legally) buy Saint Cloud KY Bourbon......

In Oregon you can only buy it from state stores. Even restaurants have to get it that way.

I had no idea Oregon had state stores. Do they control all alcohol or just spirits?

Oregon has state stores for liquor only. You, for the most part, cannot buy any other alcohol product at these places. There are a couple of test stores where there are beer and wine. But liquor is 100% confined to state run stores. Cuts both ways in my life as a producer (not of spirits but the set up by its nature impacts wine)and as a consumer.

Ok, I'm confused... Ray had announced on his Facebook page that his offer was fully subscribed but today he posted an ad that if anyone wanted one of 750 bottles, to shop his online store (which is the passion spirit site). So not fully subscribed clearly.

I’m not knowledgeable on Bourbon... is there a reason people would actually purchase something with this little age at this price point? Especially when even a bit of due diligence will show that it was contract-distilled.

This is a sales method brought on by social media, used all the time. Saying something is sold out and inviting people to join the waitlist for the product they 'missed out on' is far too common, and still many fall for it, which shocks me.

Yes, except in this case the waitlist seems to have zero wait. :)

I admit to being somewhat tempted to throw down $115 ($125 with shipping cost) to 1) see if there is any chance the product arrives, and 2) to see how much I like a highly cinnamon whiskey with no finish (according to the video review with Ray's shill). Sounds a bit like fireball!

Bourbon has jumped the shark. A lot of stuff out there is mgp contract bourbon selling in the 100-500 range in the secondary. 100ish is not going to raise any alarms in todays market. Im strictly talking about the cost. Nothing else ;)

Except that there ISN'T a waitlist! P.T. Walker stated that the mailing list was closed due to fulfilling max capacity. Yet, you can go to the Passion Spirits link right now and plunk down $115 for a bottle.

Who here is the king of Bourbon? I hate Bourbon so I can't tell if it is good or bad for a Bourbon. If I like it, it'd be bad Bourbon for the connoisseurs. Which one of you professional Bourbon people are going to purchase a bottle and give us an honest opinion?

My wardrobe is somewhat equally divided by t-shirts that either say BOURBON or PATRICIA GREEN CELLARS. I drink a Manhattan most every day. I have spent a lot of money on bottles of Bourbon. I am quite sure that does not make me the King of Bourbon though (dammit!) I’m willing to assert my opinion on it, good/bad/in between, when I taste it. And I will. Or I think I will. Maybe.
