Would he source from Frank-Lin but bottle at the Epicenter place?

Now curious how this whole business works.

I don't think so as Frank-Lin offers bottling as a service for custom labels. I guess they could have just been the middle man and sourced it from Grease Monkey and had it bottled by DSE.

There are a thousand permutations of how you can source a custom brand and liquid.

Wow, that sounds just like these guys:

http://frank-lin.com
Gee, thanks for that "VERY interesting information on the source of Ray’s “Bourbon”." (per your post #316)

So he's using (or may be using) Frank-Lin as the source. So do others. Big deal. Is anyone surprised? Fine "detective" work there.

Bottom line is this will likely be low quality Bourbon, and presumably overpriced. As long as he uses the profits to make whole the people he ripped off with Maison Ilan, I hope it's successful. Otherwise I hope his project tanks, which is what he deserves. No one should be holding their breath. Anyone who gives this guy any money before actually receiving the product is either completely nuts or uninformed. The best thing that can happen out of this thread is that people who might consider buying from him will be on notice if they do a good internet search.
Who pissed in your Post Toasties this morning?
I don't eat Post Toasties. Oatmeal or granola for breakfast, with the occasional English muffin.

Hey! Why didn't one of you folks ping me to this thread? Somehow I missed it. I could have added a few useful and timely comments. It looks as if the denizens of the board have sniffed out most of the available information, so I'll just add that, in the previous Bourbon website (L'Americaine), there was a link labeled "Investors", that led to a page indicating that, at the time, Ray was in fact actively seeking investors. I guess ought to have taken a screen-shot.

I'm also curious as to how Ray intends (if, in fact, he actually does intend) to get the proposed Saint Cloud Bourbon to purchasers, given that direct-to-consumer shipping of distilled spirits is prohibited. Do you suppose we can prod him into revealing that?

So the DSE folks who develop beverages and bottle them for dreamers who want their own small production - and who appear on his filing (he does not) do not handle distribution.

Went the "other" Saint Cloud website and saw:

Crafted by Ray Walker

I had to revisit the web's dictionary for the actual definition of "craft and crafted."

noun, plural crafts or for 5, 8, craft.
an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill, especially manual skill:
the craft of a mason.
skill; dexterity:
The silversmith worked with great craft.
skill or ability used for bad purposes; cunning; deceit; guile.
the members of a trade or profession collectively; a guild.
a ship or other vessel.

Can't argue that it's not crafted by Ray. Everything is covered in the definition
IN THE BUSINESS SHILL: An associate of a person selling goods, who pretends no association to the seller and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer.

Assuming the whois information is correct, pretty easy to figure out via public property records, but that's a big assumption. Definitely seems like someone who lives in or once lived in the Columbus OH area.

Seems like a lot of sour grapes for a guy who rebuilding a brand.

I've known Ray personally for 25 years and I applaud him for trying to relaunch a career. What is sad is seeing personal attacks on him and his family. Bashing a product before you taste it... kinda short sided in my book.

Mr. Toupes, when can we expect Fox KTVU to do a story on all the people who are still owed thousands in wine? As a producer at KTVU, don't you have a journalistic obligation to report on both sides?

Jason, I've known people 60 years but there were gaps between contacts with a number of them so I didn't know what they were doing during those times unless they told me. My question is: Did you reach out to Ray because of his success as a Burgundy producer and soon to be Bourbon distiller or did Ray reach out to you and let you know about his success in Burgundy and impending Bourbon distillery?

Wait, a producer with KTVU has chimed in to defend Ray? I’ve known of Ray for 10 years or more and have observed two similar, apparent cons involving car parts and wine. But let’s all try the bourbon, I’m sure the third time’s the charm. Just stop it.

Chris Freemott did a great job of building the Grassl stemware line by sending Berserkers trial samples.
I was hoping Ray might do similar (no, not really).
I was hoping he would discuss the origin, mash bill, barrel ageing and other pertinent details. Instead, he got onto a self-absolution bender.

I received my sample promptly.
My Berserkerday stems arrived on time (with a guarantee).
This pricing was a fantastic deal.

Chris is building a brand for long term success using an old school, hard work, service-driven approach, not traveling from town to town selling boys bands.

Talking about this guy reminds me of why I refuse to learn the name of the guy who shot John Lennon.

One of the funniest posts of the year. Curious about whether it was incidental comedy. Certainly seems like it.

Saint Cloud is a small Kentucky Bourbon House with a truly limited production. The first batch is composed of 3,000 bottles.
Due to supplies, we cannot guarantee an offer to everyone. Please be patient and we will return your inquiry request at our earliest convenience. our first batch, a 2016 Kentucky Straight Bourbon, is due to be offered in March 2019.

5 days left for the March 2019 launch.
3 days left for the March 2019 launch. So excited.

I am sure yesterday’s lottery winner will buy the entire production.

It's not easy being drunk all the time. Everyone would be doing it if it were easy.

Seems like a lot of sour grapes for a guy who rebuilding a brand.

I've known Ray personally for 25 years and I applaud him for trying to relaunch a career. What is sad is seeing personal attacks on him and his family. Bashing a product before you taste it... kinda short sided in my book.
Jason, looking forward to your next post on this thread, but not counting on one.
