2002 Domaine de Montille Pommard 1er Cru Les Pèzerolles - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru (1/12/2019)
Popped and poured. Light ruby color. Nose of alpine flowers, red berry, cinnamon, earth, stone. On the palate a display of rustic, vivacious red mulberry fruit coming in waves like a chiming bell and cut with iron and beef blood. Interestingly, oak influence noticeable. Firm, grippy tannin and bright acidity. Long finish of crunchy red cranberry fruit, a bit of vanilla bite, and iodine. Bursting with life and quite young on this showing. Needs several years to integrate. (92 pts.)
