2006 Chateau Moulin Galhaud St Emilion

non-commercial post: The owners are friends and I did business for years with their negociant business. I never imported this wine.

Medium garnet color. The aromas are very young, with abrupt black plums and a hint of oak. The palate is sturdy, broad and fine, with some red raspberry to go with the plums, but this is still very primary and moderately tannic. The finish is long but tannic. This is obviously a success for the vintage and should be really good tomorrow, as I’ve just had one glass tonight. Rated 86.5, should improve 2 - 3 points tomorrow and 3 - 4 points if you give it another 5 - 10 years in the cellar.
