TN: 2009 Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange Châteauneuf-du-Pape

  • 2009 Domaine de la Côte de l’Ange Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1/4/2019)
Day 1: Garrique, red currants, tar and minerality. This is a complex wine and possesses a multilayered finish. Outstanding value at $25 a bottle. Not too many better!! 91 plus
Day 2: More intense than day 1. Garrique, damp earth, stone, dark currants and dark chocolate. Medium plus finish and really drinking well right now. 92 points
Day 3: Still holding up really well and picks up some additional notes of crushed rock, roasted nuts and violets adding on to the tar, red currants Garrique and minerality. This is an amazing deal at $24.95 and has another decade based on what I am seeing right now. A Rockstar wine! 93 plus. (93 pts.)
