TN: 2000 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba

  • 2000 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto di Serralunga d’Alba - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (1/2/2019)
Great bottle of wine. Decanted and tasted over 4 hours. Very dark in the glass. Full bodied with very strong aromatics. Complex nose with red fruit, flowers, tobacco, and a bit of tar. Still a bit of perceptible oak. Intense on the palate with tart red fruit. Still very primary. Firm tannins. Very long finish. Pretty well balanced at this point, but the oak and tannins need a little time to become more integrated. Will be excited to try this again in 5 years.
