2013 Chateau des Deux Rocs Cabrieres Premices Rouge, Languedoc-Roussillon

Hi, all. Long time cheap wine drinker - been dipping my toes into the deep end a bit more recently. This one I opened tonight is definitely on the cheap end, but the taste is so bizarre I felt compelled to share to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

2013 Chateau des Deux Rocs Cabrieres Premices Rouge. Overall the wine is relatively “shallow”, but has one distinct flavor… which is that it tastes exactly like the scrubbing bubbles toilet gel smells!

This is my first Languedoc wine, so I’m not sure if it’s a regional minerality thing, or this particular wine. I tasted it at the wine shop (didn’t have this flavor) and happened to get 2 bottles. So I opened a second bottle in case it was a fluke, and had the same thing. After about an hour in the glass it subsided some, but was still very present. I had to dump it - now drinking a 2014 Valley Road Meritage which is much more pleasant.
