What wines do you plan on opening on New Years Eve?

I will go first:

2012 Numanthia Termes
2013 Cameron Hughes Monte Rosso Cabernet Sauvignon
NV Domaine Chandon Blanc de Noirs

Rack of Lamb Genghis Khan is the main course.

Interested in hearing what others are planning. champagne.gif

unfortunately on call (still) till Jan 1. May do Cristal 08 on Jan 1. But no NYE wines for me this year.

Chateau Meyney 2014, 2001, 1990, 1986, 1978, and 1962, plus Chateau Guiraud 1962.

2005 Vilmart Grand Cellier d’Or

Wow- Great vertical… Tasting notes please…

2006 Taittinger Comtes and, maybe, a 2010 Kelley Fox Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir

So is the wife
She is missing Vouette et Sorbée and Cedric Bouchard complete lineup champagne.gif

2007 Maybach Materium and, if I have it in me (I’m also going to a beer bar in the evening for a flight of imperial stouts), a Kracher dessert wine.

DP Rose 2005.

Most likely beer - going to a bottle share at a local beer ‘speakeasy’ . . .

Cheers!

2016 Cedric Bouchard BdN Cote de Val Vilaine

Then whatever tickles our fancy…

2012 Marguet Les crayeres or Les Grande Ruelle

1994 Phelps Insignia and Krug 164 eme.

I was thinking of one of these, but it seems a waste to just enjoy them alone as the 15 year old is not there yet.
I’m making lamb chops for dinner.

Group that likes wine but are not wine geeks:

Bereche Champagne
Either 2004 Talbot or 2004 Sociando Mallet and/or some other Bordeaux
2001 Ridge Home Ranch
a German Kabinett or Spatlese
Something sweet.

I will be opening a2000 Valdicava and setting something aside as a backup if my wife does not like it.

2008 Dom Perignon
2008 Rodederer Cristal
2002 Taittinger Comptes de Champagne
2013 Cedric Bouchard BdB La Bolaree
NV Jacques Selosse Extra Brut Substance

A few close friends, 5 pounds of Alaskan King Crab legs, Beef Tenderloins sliders, and old school Cheese Fondue. Happy New Year to all Berserkers.

Extraordinary! What a great way to start off the new year.

Happy NYE to all (almost).

Will start the evening with a pour of 1970s vintage Four Roses Bourbon.

Then we’re going with a 2017 Far Niente Chard with Alaskan King Crab Legs w/melted butter.

Main course wine will be 2013 Opus One with Roasted Beef Tenderloin and crispy duck fat potatoes.

Dessert is going to be 06 Chateau D’Yquem.

I’m sure the wife will have some bubbly open but not sure what yet.

Lots of great bottles being opened! I have no idea yet
