TN: 2012 Marcassin Vineyard Pinot Noir

After hearing how amazing Marcassin is I was excited to get an allocation letter sent to me this summer and ordered 4 bottles. Opened this one for Christmas dinner with my family and have to say I was a bit let down. Tasted mostly cherry/cherry cola, very fruity, and sweeter than I’m used to. Not sure if these needs more time or if it’s just their style.

I don’t drink many Cali Pinot’s, but am on the fence on if this wine is for me.

It needs more time, but if that was your reaction, I’m not sure its going to get any better for you. It is a lush and fruit forward pinot. I would not drink it very often, but I appreciate it for what it is.

I have to agree. I enjoy the Chards more than the Pinots from Marcassin but the Pinots need a lot of time to gain complexity. IMHO

Thanks for the confirmation. I’ll give the ones I have plenty of time to rest before trying again.
