- Jaffurs GrenacheBlanc ThompsonVnyd (13.2%) 2017: Light gold color; quite attractive floral/GB/honeysuckle rather quiet/low-key nose; fairly tart/tangy low-key GB/floral/honeysuckle light stony/chalky pleasant flavor; long bit tart/tangy light floral/GB/honeysuckle slight stony finish w/ no obvious oak; not nearly as rich as previous Jaffurs GB’s; a pretty GB but a bit underwhelming; pleasant enough but just that.
A wee BloodyPulpit:
- We first tried this wine last week:
Jaffurs GrenacheBlanc ThompsonVnyd (13.2%) 2017> : Light gold color; some corked/TCA light honeysuckle/GB/
floral some pencilly/oak bit beaten-down nose; lightly tart bit musty/TCA light honeysuckle/GB/floral flavor;
some GB comes thru but badly robbed by the TCA. $27.00
but since it was corked, I opened anuther btl last night. It was a rather pretty expression of GB but not agonna set the Rhone world on fire and not up to the level of previous Jaffurs.
