2012 Alban Vineyards Syrah Patrina Alban Estate Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Edna Valley (12/14/2018)
Lots of confectionary aromas upon opening, sweet on the nose. On the palate, notes of pepper, but not so much earthiness or savory (my wife did detect this however). Not overly complex, but pleasant. This is ready now but Albans are known for going the distance, so this will probably hold up for many years to come. At ~$50 a bottle, would probably lean more towards a Rhone for the price.
