TN's: Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra Horizontal (1997, 2005 and 2008)

1997 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (12/4/2018)
Decanted 2 hours. Lightly sedimented. Ruby color. Solid acidity. Lip smacking tannins. Notes of black fruit, tar and raw meat. Long finish. This wine is going strong and not fading at all. Disappointed that this was my last bottle. 98 points.

2005 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (12/10/2018)
Opened by Dan. Red purple color. Aromas of wet earth. Notes of tar, cherries, charred oak and mushrooms. Round texture. More approachable than the 2008 but did not have the deep character of the 1997. This too should benefit from additional aging. 93 points.

2008 Domenico Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (12/10/2018)
Opened by Allred. The youngest of the 3 Clerico Barolo that we tried. Dark crimson color. Notes of plum and tea leaves with a dry and powerful finish. just starting to enter it’s drinking window. Give this time. 92 points.
