I would say the Ciacci Piccolimini may be reasonably approachable. Really the answer is none of these are ready.

Decantation ?

It is…or it was when I had it earlier this year. Just decant it…

I would guess that the best bets are:

2009 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco (probably the safest one among the Barolos; soft, more forward vintage and a modernist producer)

Possibly:
2010 Vietti Barolo Castiglione (their base bottling, made to be more approachable than the single-vineyard bottlings)
2010 G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe (ditto)

That said, 2010 was a vintage in Barolo that generally requires aging. Even if these were open when young (which I think I recall the Vietti being), they might have shut down some now.

Not had any of these recently, but I’d guess:

2009 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco

or

2010 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino

This is what I was going to suggest also. Why the preponderance of 2010? Birth year wines and becoming impatient? [cheers.gif]

2010 La Poderina Brunello.

More like I drank everything else . . . Truth is I only buy Italian wine sporadically. I have always been a French fan but recently, I have been purchasing a few bottle here and there.

I had both the Albe and Castiglione recently and especially the Castiglione was impressive and opened up nicely with some air
