A Cornas new to me: 2016 Mikael Bourg Cornas Les P'tits Bouts

Got this from Lyle and am very glad I did.

2016 Mikael Bourg Cornas Les P'tits Bouts
12/1/2018 - From what I have read, Mikael Bourg has a very small parcel in Cornas and only makes a couple of barrels per year. The wine is whole cluster and raised in used oak. This is a very nice wine, very '16 in that it is fresh and juicy and delivering a lot of pleasure right out of the gate. The fruit complexion here is medium-dark and it is tinged what characteristic savoriness and a thin trailing scrim of coarse Cornas tannins. I'd guess this will be at its best in 7-10 years.

12/2/2018 - Day 2 - wow, this has veered way over toward the dark side -- much wilder, with strong notes of raw/bloody and salted meat amidst aromatic herbs, and dark brown roasted beef flavors infusing the deep Syrah fruit. The free-running, juicy mouthfeel of yesterday has given over to a more compact and grippy texture. Impressive. This might really be awesome with age.
