You are so funny. These wines are great in their youth. Great job Todd.

How about "baby harvesting"? How could that be offensive?

If you do this a few more times, we can call it Frenching!
"I Frenched a '15 Sassicaia to see what all the fuss was about."This wins. Multiple meanings.
I like it.

Todd, this is a gracious response to my post, and I really like your suggestion of crowd-thinking this such that a new term evolves. If all posters are conscious of the issue, perhaps a new term will evolve over time. If/when any of us see the term used here, I recommend that we call this thread to the poster's attention.Todd F r e n c h wrote: ↑November 30th, 2018, 7:57 amAs for 'babykilling' I HATE the word as well, which is why I used it in quotes. Let's crowd-think this into a new term and coin it, so let me know your thoughts.

I can just hear her giving you shit...that and the "we'll never be able to drink x-hundred bottles..." rant, which Sahba (wife) has quoted for the past few years to guilt me into not buying as much wine. Thanks for that!Todd F r e n c h wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 7:09 pm'the boss' (my wife) insisted on drinking a Monte Bello if I was to keep buying them vintage after vintage

Todd,
after reading your notes I decided to do the same thing! I had two bottles of the 2012 Monte Bello, also will open the '14 Dominus and '15 Sassicaia.

I figured how else can you know how any bottle evolves. Toddlering, Frenching, Babykilling...
Your notes are similar to mine, except I'm getting some really big tobacco and cigar, with some earthiness. Nose is velvet and cassis for me mostly.
Cheers!

I think toddlering works beautifully but we need to have a special name and award for the most frequent toddlerer every calendar year.

+1 and for my tastes, the '07 I opened was not ready.SeanHarding wrote: ↑November 29th, 2018, 10:33 pmI have vintages going back to 2007 and I think I've only ever opened one. I have 4 bottles of the 2013, so maybe I should pop one soon...
