Macdonald on Benchmark

#1 Post by luc@sl@belle » November 28th, 2018, 4:17 pm

Just saw an email from earlier today...

2009 @ 299 a bottle (4 bottles)
2010 @ 399 a bottle (3 bottles)

Was this a mistake or just a really good deal!?
Also
anyone get lucky and secure these at those mind blowing prices?

ive had this happen so many times with Benchmark emails. I open most of those emails immediately and scan for a very limited number of things before looking closer... and they are always gone as soon as I click. I was sad about missing the $170 Giuseppe Rinaldi Le Coste 2007 and the 2009 Biondi Santi for $125

I got the email also. It was even more than the OP indicated:

MacDonald Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 ~ 4 @ $299
MacDonald Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 ~ 3 @ $399
MacDonald Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 1.5L ~ 1 @ $799
MacDonald Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 ~ 3 @ $599
MacDonald Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 1.5L ~ 1 @ $1199

What is really notable is that 2010 Magnum. Only 12 were made and the winery has 4 of them. That is a very rare bird.

As for the question of whether or not they were really there, the '12 750s, which were the highest price of the bunch, are still available on their website, so I would assume that they were all available at some point.

When they had the 2011 for $45, that was a pretty good price too.

You've got plenty of a wine that beat out the 2010 MacDonald head-to-head. champagne.gif
