1998 Burgess Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection Library Release
Man, this is still one big ol’ wine. A mass of ripe black currant and raspberry, more overt licorice than I’ve ever tasted in a wine, tangy grainy tannins, and just starting to gain some sweet tobacco leaf. Delicious, especially with a few hours of air. This probably won’t hit its peak for another 5 years and will easily go another 15-20 (based on a 1978 bottle that the Wine Muddler opened recently).
