2004 Weingut Keller Dalsheimer Hubacker Riesling Spätlese Goldkapsel - Germany, Rheinhessen (11/20/2018)
Golden with still a green hue. Pear, slate, kaffir lime, some cooler green herbs, and subtle honeysuckle florals on the nose. On the palate, it is has density but still good lift and a sense of freshness, even in a higher extracted spatlese mold. Rich, yet fresh. Pear more than apple fruit, some sublle herbal (tarragon?) notes, honey, and florals, with a great balance of fruit, RS, acid, and slate/ stoniness… At peak and likely to stay there for quite some time. Was a terrific match for pan cooked Red Wattle pork chops and butter beans. (92 pts.)
