TN: 2013 Vietti Barolo Castiglione

From 375

Beautiful aromatics, surprisingly open and generous. Florals and ripe red cherries on the nose. Good structure but not overly tannic. Great acidity and long finish. I’m a big fan of this bottling.

Thanks for the note. I drank all of my 2012 of this wine and really enjoyed them. Glad to hear the 2013 is approachable now. I have been keeping my hands off 2013 for the most part but can give this a whirl.

Thanks for the note, and good to hear. I tried the 2014 at a tasting and it did not show well. Obviously the vintage was more irregular than 2013, and it could just be young and closed, but it didn't seem to be hiding much. It just wasn't very good. Will look for the 2013.
