TN: 2000 Marcel Deiss Burlenberg (France, Alsace)

  • 2000 Marcel Deiss Burlenberg - France, Alsace (11/18/2018)
Popped and poured. Medium ruby color. Nose of red raspberry, cinnamon, violets, hints of spice. Cranberry, strawberry, and black raspberry fruit on the medium-bodied palate cut with schist and earth. Some vanilla elements at first but this quickly resolved with air. Excellent acidity and smoothed tannin leading to a long finish of snappy red fruit, stone, and grip. Very much alive at age 18, this could continue to evolve for years. Mostly Pinot noir with some Pinot beurot. (91 pts.)
