Medium gold color. The aromas are balanced, featuring mostly Rome apple and Bosc pear, with tiny hints of lime and conifer. The palate is medium bodied with excellent texture; there is a nice mix of opulence and acidity. The flavors now also offer something a little like figs and are riper than I would have expected. This is a good bottle, but shows as fully mature, not something I expect from a Chardonnay even from Domaine Eden (and never from Mount Eden). The finish is adequately long, but this is not the best vintage for this wine. A subtle pleasure, perfect with smoked salmon and tzatziki, it seems fully mature. Rated 90.5.
