TN:02 Gosset Celebris, Mugnier Musigny, etc

a mate of mine invited me around for dinner last night for a sneaky Wednesday session.
we kicked things off with the
2002 Gosset Celebris
wow what a great champagne, lovely tiny bead with great yeast character and a hint of marmite

Reece was rustling the pans and produced a great dinner of rack of lamb, bok choy salad and a freaky stuffed mushroom dish, the food was great, with dinner we drank
2004 Azelia San Rocco Barolo
Slightly modern with just a hint of new oak, fully open and ready to go with tar and roses for miles, a hint of red fruit, really great balance and palate length.
Drinking great now but will improve for sure

After that we cracked some burgs
1995 Jadot Clos Vougeot
CORKED, what a bummer

So out comes a 2011 Mugnier Musigny that is showing signs of seepage, we decided the humane thing to do was to put it out of its misery
2011 Mugnier Musigny
Raspberry Coulis,Raspberry Coulis, Raspberry Coulis, not a hint of green and made with such a gentle hand.
Of course way way too young but still stoked to have had the chance to try it young
when we pulled the cork it had a deep crease line running the length of it which was the cause of the leakage
NR because its a baby.

We finished the night with a lovely apple torte and
2005 Guiraud Sauternes, which I remember liking a lot but not much else.

Best Wednesday night I have had in a while
