Now this is going to get interesting . . . more from Copper Cane and Joe Wagner

Copper Cane cancelled a number of grape contracts in OR due to smoke taint, but many are claiming that the taint is either minor or not there at all . . .

Cheers.

I have heard that Willamette Valley Vineyards and others are stepping in and taking some of the grapes that Copper Cane refused.

Seeing that the majority of Copper Cane’s OR Chardonnay program and 40% of its Pinot program come from this area, it’ll be interesting to see how they ‘spin this’ moving forward

Cheers

Pure shit.

Ethics taint.

Posted this over on reddit and got a good discussion going there. Myself and some others believe this is revenge for the investigation the Oregon growers initiated regarding deceptive labeling practices.

dick move… Somebody did bring up the point that his extraction style could enhance the smoke taint into something more noticeable. The timing with the labeling investigation makes it seem vindictive.

Can Oregon growers now blackball Joe Wagner? Would they?
