tasted from reidel som rhone glasses.i should have listened to previous CT notes and decanted but i did not. after an hour in glass. dark opaque black cherry color in fact, the overwhelming part of this wine was that. a nose of dark cherry, stewed plum, some road tar…perhaps some menthol, some coffee. the mouth feel, a little hot, as i said, should have decanted, a long 45-60 second finish of cherry-chocolate-coffee (94 pts.)

Nice note, I made the list for the 2010 vintage and have 1 remaining, glad to see these have plenty of life ahead of them. [cheers.gif]

Just looked. I have a 2007 and a 2009.

Not a particularly helpful note, but I liked it:

I believe I have had it twice recently, including once from Magnum, and it was definitely a WOW wine. It’s only 8% Mourvedre but I really think that shows through with meat juices and depth. There is plenty of fruit, but other things as well.
