TN: An Italian White & Red....(short/boring)

Tried these two ystrday:

  1. Arnaldo-Caprai Grecante Dd’OC: Colli Martani Grechetto; www.ArnaldoCaprai.com; WilsonDaniels) Montefalco/Umbria 2016: Pale yellow color; some small bubbles that agglomerate around the edge of the glass/dissolved CO2; lightly floral/carnations/apple/apple blossom some stony/mineral pleasant straightforward nose; fairly tart/lean/stony/mineral/chalky some floral/carnations/apple blossom pleasant/attractive flavor; very long tart/stony/chalky/bit metallic some floral/carnations/apple blossom pleasant bit austere finish; no signs of dissolved CO2 on palate; a rather pleasant stony/mineral light floral white but just that; pleasant/undistinguished enough but not much more; doesn’t have a lot to say to me. $21.00 (AV)

  1. Fantino Rosso dei Dardi VinoRosso (13%; 90% Nebbiolo + 5% Freisa/Dolcetto; KermitLynch; www.vino-fantino.com/) Alessandra e Gianatale Fantino/Monforte d’Alba 2013: Med.light color; light floral/Nebb/violets bit earthy/dusty pleasant Nebb nose; very lightly tart light Nebb/floral/violets slight tangy/metallic/earthy fairly smooth flavor w/ light gentle tannins; med.short very lightly tart light floral/violets/Nebb bit earthy/dusty finish w/ light faint tannins; speaks of Nebbiolo w/ a whisper; an Oakland wine…there’s no there/there. $23.00 (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. Fantino: This is a Nebbiolo that is made to be drinkable from the get/go. From their Bussia holding. A pleasant enough wine but it has nothing much to say to me…or I’m just not listening.
