2008 Launois Pere et Fils Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé - France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru (9/16/2018)
Popped this bottle while pressing my Blanc de Noir picked earlier in the day. 100% Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs. Just a lovely Champagne 2nd time I have had this wine and Launois (and most producers generally) did an excellent job in this vintage. Far superior to the bottles of 2005 that I drank a couple years ago. Creamy texture with floral aromas. Notes of toasted brioche, chalk and lemongrass. Fine bead and a clean finish. A great deal at $41 when it was released. 94 points.
