TN: 2013 Rivers-Marie B. Thieriot Chard

PNP, oh my god this is fabulous stuff. Smoke and lemon in the smallish nose, but it explodes in the mouth. Great acid, some thickness, and echos the smoke and lemon from the nose. A slightly bitter element, along with a hint of vanilla, add complexity. Great depth and length, a grand cru level wine. A wine to savor. My last bottle. Damn fate for not making more of this amazing stuff available.

Bill Thanks for the tasting note. I agree with you that year in year out this is a world class wine. My favorite Cal chardonnay. The 2013 was a paticularly great vintage. Definitely better than the Sonoma Coast. Will have to crack open my Bearwallow soon to see how it compares.

I have 2012 and 2015s I’ll have to try. Littorai makes some damn fine Thieriots as well. Thanks for the note.
