TN: 2014 Alice et Olivier De Moor Bourgogne-Aligoté

I can’t remember when I last had an Aligoté but it very well might have been in a Kir. De Moor’s wines are something one sees all the time in France in shops, bars and restaurants that focus on natural wine. I had never tried one before but was really happy to find out that while a superb wine there is nothing screaming natural here. I would rebuy in a heartbeat.

Hauntingly good on the nose with notes of nutty and smoky wood, apple, stone fruit and autolysis. Quite juicy and firm on the palate with good depth and powerful acidity. Wonderful citrusy intensity, this is no timid wallflower. Bone dry and quite linear, finishes tart and focused. A somewhat demanding yet very rewarding wine.
