Tasting of Raft wines at Oakland Yard wine shop, 8/18/18

Stopped in at a tasting of Raft Wines at Oakland Yard wine shop this afternoon, with owner/winemaker Jennifer Reichardt. She poured three of her wines, 2016 “Jonquille” Sierra Foothills (Calaveras County) Viognier, 2017 “Fleur Pour Ma Mère” Trails End Vineyard Potter Valley Rosé of Grenache, and 2016 Trails End Vineyard Potter Valley Grenache. Raft is a new label, with 2016 the first vintage. Jennifer has worked with several noted vintners including Ted Lemon and Fred Scherrer, and I thought her wines were all very good - the Viognier was my favorite. The wines are made in Sonoma County, and prices are very reasonable, all $27 and under. Check out the Raft website to learn the great story behind the “Raft” name.
