2005 Gevrey Chambertin “Champs Chenys” - Roty
Youthful, dark crimson red with amber at the edge.
Spicy, smoked ham nose with coffee undertones.
Firm, ferrous, black fruits, black licorice entry led to a long, ripely tannic finish.
Perfect acid/fruit balance.
Young but still tasty with a great future ahead given 5-10 years further aging.
The best young “Champs Chenys” in my experience.
For now [92+ pts] with a higher score in the offing given time.
