2016 Forman Chardonnay

Forman has long been one of my favorite Chardonnays. They always seemed quite Chablis like when young. But starting with the 2014 vintage they seem to have tropical characteristics and are more full flavored than in previous vintages. And since I think that there is still no malo involved, I can only attribute it to vintage characteristics. The 2016 is a delicious wine, encompassing beautiful fruit, minimal oak, and decent acidity. Definitely a case purchase. 93 points.

Appreciate the note.

I’ve never had a Forman Chard but I love his Cab, will look for this.

Michael, you are preaching to the choir regarding Forman wines. I have not had the 2016, but I have enjoyed a number of his previous vintages of Chardonnay. Glad you enjoyed it, and I will definitely try this vintage.

Thanks,
Ed

Yes. They go back a long way Newton and Sterling too.

Hard to believe such a balanced Chard could come from a vineyard in Rutherford. But it does!

Great wines from Forman, in general.

In 1989, or so, even got to try a Forman gewurtztaminer!
