Aromatically, this is beautiful. Fresh, tart red fruit is starting to turn into dried fruit, but it’s early in that transition. There is a strong sense of dark soil and dusty earth along with floral notes and dried herbs. The nose is quite complex in some ways that are hard for me to describe. This is clearly developing, with plenty more potential for its future. The palate is a bit fresher and more simple than the nose. It tastes like a very young Beaujolais in that tart fruit, acidic, refreshing style. I suspect about 5 more years will bring everything together here and that it will continue to evolve well for some time after that. I need to be paying more attention to this producer and buying more of his wines.
