2016 Domaine Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin (5/30/2018)
Decanted 2hrs. but wish it could have been much, much longer as the initial scents had a strong note of sulfur - it eventually mellowed out and clearly further air would have helped immensely. While it certainly carried the trademark Gevrey muscle, I was impressed with the overall elegance and grace that was on display. Bright and energetic berry fruits convey both red and black characteristics, very thin layer of wood, and finishing with a savory, meaty finish. Exceptionally good Villages level Burg! (92 pts.)
