I'd vouch for his wines. Good, traditional Cornas producer - he makes the real deal and is a decent value alternative to some of the super star producers if you actually want to drink the stuff.
You can drink the Cuvee Casimir earlier, though I don't really like that bottling. I like the Chaillot bottling a lot - it's one of the best bargains in Cornas imho given the quality.
I give this a strong +1. At $50-60 the Chaillot bottling is hard to beat.

Is the Marcel Lapierre Morgon worth having or do you go straight for the Cuvee Marcel Lapierre?

It's a small price difference between the various cuvees, and the quality jump is not inconsiderable in my experience.

Nevertheless, the quality of the base Morgon is so high with producers like Lapierre, I invariably go for a spread across them all. They tend to drink earlier as the price scales down, which helps.

I've been underwhelmed by a couple.different vintages of the Beaune bottling. Will likely wait at least 5 more years before I consider popping the 2005 Corton Renardes I'm sitting on.

They have had a regular flow with Gaunoux cellar stuff since I started buying from Greg in 2010. Like Brian and Michael, the wines have never moved me. From the village Beaune through all the Pommard 1ers. Maybe I wasn't too impatient, but I stopped trying several years ago.

I had to check my tasting notes because I know I've had a great Gaunoux... it was a Jean-Michel Gaunoux though, and not from Envoyer! ('95 Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières)

I’ve been underwhelmed by any Gaunoux I’ve bought.
The 1996s and 1999s I have had have been excellent, but I have also found a number of others underwhelming.

Similar for me. The '99 Beaune is killer. The rest not worth it.

Would you say the 1999s are ready? I’m sitting on a Pommard Rugiens, my last Gaunoux, and I want to give it a chance to shine before writing off the producer

I've had a couple of the '99 Epenots. Nice wine but I'd give it a couple more years.

I have not had the 2009 Rugiens. I have had the Grands Epenots and Corton at least a couple of times each. The Corton was not near ready the last time I had it, although that was several years ago. The Grands Epenots was very enjoyable the two times I have had it (but last time was a few years ago) but probably was not yet at its peak yet then.

That was fun! Asked for a few 1964's

1964 Bersano Barolo Riserva
1964 Cantine Borgo Gattinara

See if my draw was fast enough.

I nearly crapped myself at the offer for 1989 Leonor Chinon at -$269.99-. This is not an easy to find bottle, but it’s not one that anyone’s looking for either. I think I bought the 2006 for sub-$15 from Garagiste and thought it was a nice, reedy, rustic, pyrazine-laden Chinon that I could geek out to. Rougeard it ain’t.

Absolutely no clue where this kind of pricing is coming from but it’s absurd.

Just had an amazing 1988 Chinon last night--but it had a $40 tariff.

I got one of the 1961 Fontanafredda from that list. Just took delivery of a 67 a couple weeks ago, along with a 78 Borgogno. Looking forward to a Barolo night with some friends.

haha even the CT picture at this point is a bottle of the Langhe. but for the 2015 barbs the best price I could get around here is $39. guessing the '16s will be about the same to a couple dollars higher

you will now!

but really, Produttori Barbs are great on release, but even better as they age. Even 40+ years for these base levels has been OK in these more traditional vintages like 16

heads up if anyone was interested: I asked greg about some Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Kabinett, and he said he could get pre-arrival for up to a case of 2017 for $89.

I only requested one, but that means he can still get 11 more!
