Got 3 of the 2016 Bruno Clair Chambolle Musigny Les Veroilles [cheers.gif]

I think all the Chambolle was sold to people on this thread.
I was pleasantly surprised I got one of the Chambolle and one of the Bonnes Mares

So, who has experience with the 2002 Faiveley Maréchale? Notes on CT aren't all that encouraging but good to great vintage and (usually) reliable wine, not often available in halves

Anyone hear back on these? I poked Greg about it like 10 days ago, he thought we were good, but I've never seen an invoice.

I asked for two mags and have yet to hear back. I responded about an hour after the offer went out though, so doubt my data point is going to add much.

Picked up some of the 2015 Prieur-Brunet Santenots that came in labelled as G. Prieur. I know that Jadot bought them out in 2017, so I'm thinking this was bottled/labelled post sale. Just curious why it would be labelled as Guy Prieur instead of Prieur-Brunet. Any info appreciated.

Very ‘Faiveley’

Had the ‘02 @ Berns a year or so ago. Drank well but I remember it being pretty rustic.

Think that 2017 Donnhoff will be stellar and a quarter cheaper than the lowest on Winesearcher.

They aren’t the only retailer that offers allemand though. Pretty much every retailer in so cal withba Kermit allocation will come in lower.

I just got offered 12x Reynard for 280 and 12x chaillot for 240. Was offered even lower a couple weeks ago but didn’t snap it up in time. These are all from France like Envoyer’s offer. I suspect it’ll be a bit lower once official 3 tier allocations come out

Is Envoyer more than this: Flickinger - 2015 Reynard, 12x for $6,628.99? I’ve been out of the game for awhile and thought this was a typo.

That's loony. WS Pro has 2015 for $325 (still very steep!)

But I've been saying for a while that I thought Allemand would stay on a significant upward trajectory. It had all the hallmarks: tiny production, high quality, trendy area, and it may not be around forever (at least with this quality). But I did not think it would explode this quickly or this seismically.

Wait a second... You mean to report that you purchase wine from sources other than Envoyer?

I kid, I kid.

My point was only that this offer may not improve from them (but certainly other retailers will likely have better ones).

Supposedly a rising star; his personal holdings are in haut cotes de nuits but he has long term leases to produce from village sites in vosne, Chambolle, and morey, as well as boudots, damodes, and beaux monts.

I would say the wines are modern-ish but the wood is well integrated on the 13s.

Hmmm. I’m usually on the look out for burgundy in .375s, but I thought the Verdet I had was very oaky. However, I’ve found I’m very sensitive to oak, so YMMV.

I don’t think his wine is all that oaky.

Do you think d’angerville is oaky?
Yes, but not unacceptably so.
I would group his wines as the same category as Rossignol, d’Angerville, etc. in terms of oak usage.

Which Rossignol?? [rofl.gif]

In all seriousness, thanks. Very helpful.

I think Verdet is quite a bit oakier than D'Angerville, but I'd also never open D'Angerville that young. I wouldn't wait 15 years to open Verdet's villages.

The most similar wine I’ve opened this year to the 2013 Verdet CM Les Condemmenes was the 16 Angerville Volnay 1er

Fair enough. I love D'Angerville, but don't open them young.

It was pretty fantastic young. I like checking wines out at all stages.

I find I love Lafarge and D’Angerville with age on them, but not young. Plus, more and more, there’s a real opportunity cost to opening young D’Angerville just to check on it :)

Anyway, this is all quite off topic.
