The Willi Schaefer rand Von Schubert wines should be fabulous. IMHO I think Lyle oversold the 2018 Mullen spatlese.

I didn't get as much as I usually do--but I do think that is Mullen's top site and also have some of the '18 Aulese from it too. It should be fun to do a horizontal and/or vertical in some years. MFW gave it a 93 still.

I had this spatlese**. Tasted like pure Haribo peaches. Enjoyable but not much more complex than that.

I had that ‘12 Schaefer #9 a couple weeks ago out of .375. It’s a Frankenstein wine: huge fruit, huge acidity, very tropical, very long... and yet, beautifully balanced. Just awesome.

That Von Schubert is probably spoiled now. If you send it to me I'll hazmat dispose of it in accordance with the appropriate regulatory guidelines.

I was a bit worried that the tariffs had caused Envoyer some issues as it had been a bit since I was excited by their offers but between this, champagne, and today's Barolo cellar, my wine budget is busted for the month. Asked for some of the 1964 Valfieri Barolo Riserva based on this. Thanks Greg and Jeremy.

Ooof. Bring on the tariffs?

2008 LdH Tondonia Reserva for $44. Bought the 07 from them just over a year ago at $33.

I also was surprised by the 33% price increase YoY. Will probably skip this and wait for 2009/2010 unless I can find it closer to $35 somewhere else...

Isn't the price increase just basically the tariffs?

I always thought it was underpriced relative to quality and ageability, but didn't bite as I don't need more wine.

I just bought a mag of 00 for 150 so yes, it’s awful.

Is 99 better? Yeah probably, but not twice as good.

interesting half bottle of Huet Le Haut Lieu Sec on offer today.

The one Cellartracker note says it's sweeter, but I thought the Sec is on the dry side. Is there a lot of vintage variation wrt residual sugar?

Their pricing on Mugneret-Gibourg was 20% higher than any other offer I have seen.

Yeah. I’m in the market for some but not tempted by those prices at all.

I remember buying 08 Ruchottes for $125/per—but I suppose that was now a decade ago.

I’m really excited about the Picasses, in particular, as I think Breton stopped bottling wine from that site shortly after the 02 vintage. I’ve never had a chance to sample one before.

Went for 3 of the Camus-Bruchon Savigny offered this morning; never tried it, but it sounds compelling. 100 yo vines. Consistently solid reviews across multiple vintages from trusted tasters on CT. $30. Seems like a no-brainer. I'm just nervous I'm going to later regret buying *only* 3.

A reload of 2016 Cavallotto for $75 again. Down to less than a case left on the site.

When they say "late fall" how late are they typically talking?

Wondering if anyone has tried the 2019 Jean-Paul Thevenet Morgon VV? I see the offer for $34.99 per.

I asked for a new of the PCYMs yesterday, haven't received a confirm yet; anyone else get lucky? My order went in about 5 minutes after the email arrived

2018 Mongeard Mugneret Richebourg for $400? Seems reasonable??? Anyone have experience with this wine?

(Can't believe I just said a $400 wine is reasonable)

It’s a good deal. I think this is a nice wine but usually overpriced but this is about the right price. I grabbed a bunch bc it’s my daughters birth year.

It's our son's birth year as well. Not sure I'll buy a bunch but thinking about a bottle or two!

I got conformation of 3 bottles, but I wasn’t asking for any of the lumber.
Cheers!

I have some MM wines but more of my tasting experience with them is somewhat older. Their wines age very well and can become excellent, but unless they have changed their style to me they tend to be wines that are rough when young and need time. I would not buy this to drink young unless you see some very specific tasting notes on the wine.

Great info, Howard. We'd be aging it. 2018 is our son's birth year. We don't mind rustic as long as that's not code for "brett."

That 2015 Grande Mayne second on offer this morning is really damn good, particularly for $30. I bought six.
