Today's $30 Jadot trio was too good to pass up - asked for one of each and tempted to ask for more!
Are there multiple envoyer mailing lists? I have bought a bunch from them but don’t get many of these deals.

What was the jadot deal?
There seem to be at least two - a general one of new offers and a narrower group, I think "big" customers, who get some offers that aren't more generally available. I assume those offers are where Greg has only a few bottles and expects demand to be relatively high - so he only has to say "sorry, we're out" to 100 people instead of 300.

It was 3 2016/2017 Jadot Beaune wines: 2016 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Boucherottes Domaine des Héritiers; 2017 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Theurons; 2017 Louis Jadot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode. $30 each.

Another Jadot steal this morning, but I was too late. 2017 Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot, Clos de la Chapelle/Domaine du Duc de Magenta for $70.

Idk, I paid $49 for the 2015 last year. Very nice wine, no doubt but that’s a substantial price hike

Same here. $50 from envoyer. $70 is 40% higher.
For me it's an easy pass.

Thanks, guys - I'll take that! I have a lot more experience buying the reds so it's good to get your perspective on pricing on the whites.

Tariffs suck. I'm sure that's a part of it. Everyone else currently showing the '17 on W-S is $90 or higher.

I bought some. It was $10 more than Envoyer offered the '16 for in Dec. 2019. Given the tariffs, the '17 vintage and the prices that I have access to, $70 seemed like a good deal to me.

Some attractive pricing and lots of stuff I like. It took all of my willpower not to ask for all the Bartolo Mascarello. I hope someone else has taken it by now.

The Leroy pricing is excellent given the current market but I'm not a buyer.

Underwhelming to me. The MG is probably the best stuff there but pricing wasn’t amazing. Rion stuff was nicely priced, if you’re into that sorta thing. Chezeaux CV could also be worth a flyer. My biggest issue was the vintages offered weren’t the best and the ones that were good weren’t priced well except for a few exceptions.

Didn’t see it for almost 20 minutes, so I’m probably screwed, but I asked for a Michelot LSG. Just asked for one, hoping that helps. I have a few other vintages so it would be nice to add this one - it would be the oldest.

The Tempier was tempting, too.

not if you've had both. The 08 slays the 12. At least up till now, who knows in 10 years.

I have had both in the last year. I thought neither was drinking well but felt like the 12 had more potential. I prefer the 07 for now over either. Maybe I’ll dig some out and do a little tasting.

I'm going to agree with Charlie here. The 08 was one of the best wines I've had in context (ie it was the perfect pairing to a big tasting menu) in the last year. Never had the 12 though.

I responded to the 2017 Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne offer from a week ago, and was allocated a bottle today. Is it normal for Envoyer to take several days to confirm allocation? I'm trying to be better about sticking to a budget this year and don't want to inadvertently overbuy if there's significant lag in their replies.

The lag is inconsistent. Sometimes there's a quick confirmation. Sometimes there's a significant lag. Just the nature of doing business with them.

I got a couple too; pretty good pricing. FWIW this lag is not uncommon at all. I've experienced in some cases a good deal longer than that

Sometimes they get more pre-orders than expected and have to wait for confirmation of availability from the supplier before telling the later-responding folks yes or no.

Not a knock on Greg, but it feels like yesterday that I bought a bunch of back vintage Ampeau wines at half the cost of today's email. Those were the days.

I kind of had the same feeling. But it was quite some time ago. Today's prices are actually cheaper than Greg was offering a year ago (last May, the Perrieres was $180).

yeah, it's pricey, there are some better deals on the likely better 17 out there but not much cheaper. 90 is still a pretty good deal for a world class red burg, though.

I bit for one. When Dr. Kelley endorses it as a special wine, it’s worth a pull.

Jadot 2017 Beaune 1er Vigne Franches for $30. Seems like a pretty good deal based on WS. Im in for a few. Haven't been buying many 2017s for the cellar. These could be good casual wines to bury for a little while.

PSA - they just posted 2017 Jadot Clos Ursules for $50. Pretty good deal.
Should be fun to go between their vignes franches and the walled ursules from the same vintage. Side by side will likely need to be in 3-5 years I imagine...

Anyone know anything about the wine beyond what was said in the offer on the following wine:

2016 Giovanni Dri Il Roncat Schioppettino “Monte dei Carpini” Friuli Colli Orientali?

Is it a traditionaly made wine?

Fermentation for 20 days in contact with the skins. After racking and two transfers to eliminate the lees of fermentation, the wine is placed in old barrels for 12 months. The barrels used for the red wines are never new but they are used for Ramandolo for 2 to 3 years and then move on to maturing the red wines.

Hope that helps.

There's 375ml bottles of 2017 Jadot Corton-Charlemagne for $70 if anyone is interested.

Thanks! Very appreciated - I've gotten off all the lists as I have plenty of wine. But still buying a few 375s so this is very helpful.

Seems attractively priced. Is it a good CC or a great CC?

I got an email back on the May 8 Burgundy Cellar that they thought I was good but would confirm later. Also received notification last week of a shipment being made at my request. Think they're just overwhelmed (as is everyone) right now and trying to work as well as they can with who they have available.

I also got a response back on a very nice 4/28 cellar, saying they were waiting on final bottle count from the seller.
Waiting on a few regular orders from last week, but none older than 5/4. Agreed, I'm sure they are just busy. Thanks for the input
