I asked for the '99 de Courcel Rugiens Magnum. I love de Courcel with age and I have a soft spot for Rugiens.

Looks like you got a helluva bargain on your Tempier. I wouldn't let one outlier dictate the quality of others' pricing. Flip it around for a moment: if there was one store selling it for $60, would Envoyer's pricing then be excellent? No.

Tempier's rose runs $35 - $45 these days, so Envoyer's pricing on that one is reasonable.

Tempier sells for $60 locally in my market (when it can be found). I bought mine from Envoyer earlier in the year for the same price ($39.99)

A wine that has never been entered into CT. That doesn't happen often. Not saying that means anything, just interesting. Anyone shed light on this bottling?

From the offer, I think this probably explains it;
Domaine Charles Noellat sold the majority of their holdings to Domaine Leroy in the late 80’s, but we were told by our supplier they kept a few lesser parcels for themselves.

Ah, I see what you're saying now - No vintage entered, ever. Yes, strange. You'd think somewhere and some point, someone would have purchased a bottle and entered a note.

OK, this explains it best I think;

https://www.winex.com/blog/2019/03/17/a ... los-genet/

Just a couple of weeks ago we introduced you to our newest source for incredibly-priced, perfectly-aged cellar treasure Burgundies, Charles Noellat. For those of you who may have missed the story while trying to click on that last offer before it sold out that day, here's the background info...

The Noellat name may be a familiar one to Winex customers, as its one of the most ubiquitous monikers in Burgundy’s Vosne-Romanee appellation. There are seemingly Noellats everywhere, including Hudelot-Noellat, Georges Noellat and Michel Noellat. But the Charles Noellat story is a quick one with, for us, a very happy ending.

Yes, there was a Domaine Charles Noellat for quite some time, having thrived with its fine terroir until it was sold to none other than Lalou Bize-Leroy back in 1988, helping form the backbone of Domaine Leroy. Her success can be attributed to her astute purchase of those historic vineyards!

The family, though they sold the domaine, luckily kept the rights to the name and original label of the domaine, which Anne Noellat's son, Stephan Moreau, now uses for his own unique négociant operation, Charles Noellat.

So, Charles Noellat rides again! Just on a different horse.

Now, he sources already-bottled wines directly from the cellars of Burgundian producers known for keeping older stocks squirreled away for a rainy day. Basically, he’s doing what we’re doing, but on a more local, intense, day-to-day level, and we’re loving the results.

He tastes he buys, he offers. We taste, we buy the best…we sell. Simple as that. Some wines are diamonds with greater clarity than others, but all are distinctive, all Burgundy.

I can’t tell you how much fun it is romping through an array of older Burgundies from sites all over the Cote d’Or and happening upon the gems. They’re not always Grand Cu, they’re not always the oldest, it’s the thrill of Burgundy, and it’s what we’re (ahem) pretty good at if I do say so myself.

What a strange coincidence. After I made my purchase for 2017 Clape Cornas Envoyer just offered it.

Scratch that, I did. $309 for the MdT 1er. Way too steep for me, especially since I purchased the 14 from Envoyer for ~250.

My last (and probably final) Raveneau purchase was the 2010 Montmains for $139 in late 2017. Gone, gone, gone...

yeah, I’m having trouble with premier crus passing the $200 mark and grand crus over $300. I thought $100 was enough.

still should retail around 60 euro for 1er cru in france. oddly enough up in quebec raveneau is still quite fair vs stateside pricing. $95 for clos anyone?
