I capitulated. After my photo of my cellar with the mess on the floor (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=160033), I decided to join this thread. I moved an empty 126 bottle wooden wine rack into my cellar, put it on the back wall in front of, thereby blocking, the Scarecrow and Shrader and other stuff that I shouldn't touch for a while, and filled it. I have therefore reduced my inventory backlog of uncatalogued bottles not listed in CT by approximately 120 bottles (some mags took up 2 spaces). Does that count as an inventory reduction plan?
Is that like moving funds around between companies to make it look like they’re doing better than they are? Do you also have wine parked in offshoresite "shell" storage locations to keep it off the radar screen of the home office auditor?

A slightly different milestone. For the first time since I started this hobby back in the late '80s, I have zero bottles on order, waiting to be delivered.

Down 4% on the year. Goal is another 1.75% for this year. Should be easy.

Another month in the right direction:

Purchased: 27
Consumed: 57
Net: -30

A case of the "consumed" wines was sold rather than drunk, but even not counting those we are still on a roll. Would have been an even better month up until an offer of back vintages from one of our favorite alto Piemonte producers resulted in a purchase of 2 cases.

Another month.

Another reduction fail.

I admit I forget buying stuff. I told my wife recently that "I haven't got more wine in quite a while!!" All proud of myself until she stared at me and said "you got two cases delivered last week"

Oh...yeah. Forgot about that. Damn internet.

I was thinking how well I did in May and then looked back at purchases—most of which I had forgotten—39 bottles bought in May, only drank a few. Whoops.

I take solace in that I have made no June purchases.

My goal was to have my inventory remain under 600. I'd like a little more leeway before I open the floodgates. But I'm very happy to have managed this. For a while I thought I'd never get there.

bought 13, drank 6 for +7 for the month, my annual rose splurge accounted for some of it plus wines we brought back from Oregon and Washing(recent trip)..Am not counting my Goodfellow and Biggio-Hamina purchases as they won't arrive until the Fall and are not currently in my cellar.
