2016 Rivers Marie Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, CA deep nose of dark fruits and barrel spice…palate is darker than the last couple vintages, but has good verve and energy to carry the darker profile. Never feels heavy or clumsy, well made.
2008 Rhys Alpine Vineyard, Santa Cruz Mountains, CA nose of black and red fruits with some earth and leather…palate is a bit monotone and one note with low acidity and very plummy fruit notes. Bit disappointing after all the time I held it.
