How I feel about Bourgogne rouge in “great” years:
- Meh
- too producer dependent to generalize
- decent qpr for my palate
- fantastic qpr for my palate
- horrible qpr for my palate
- I only buy Grand Cru Balla Burgs
- I back up the truck with multiple cases from a handful of different producers
- They age surprisingly well
- They rarely age. Drink em shortly after release
- I skip the rouge and step up to affordable 1ers in great vintages
- red Burgundy is garbage water
- red Burgundy is life

Thought I’d run a fun Burgundy poll as I enjoy a 13-year-old bottle of Bourgogne rouge. I know the term “great vintage” is somewhat open for interpretation. Personally, I would include the best 2 or 3 vintages of a “normal” decade.
