Other than Patty starting it and then after we left it being the first place Kelley Fox worked at? No. Seriously. No.

Well, that history seems to make it pretty special... but sounds like maybe not so much anymore.Jim Anderson wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 3:51 pmOther than Patty starting it and then after we left it being the first place Kelley Fox worked at? No. Seriously. No.

I’ll add Carson Phillips. 2017 they got Maresh fruit. Their estate blend w Maresh is fantastic QPR.

Very well said Jim!Jim Anderson wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 10:53 am Bethel Heights, Beaux Freres, Cristom and even places like DDO I think manage to truly embody the spirit of “small wineries” by doing things the right way. Look at how people here view wineries that end up being sold to corporate conglomerate operations (for the most part).
I’m not attempting to run down small wineries. It’s basically what defines the Oregon wine industry. I’m simply stating that it’s what’s in people’s heads and hearts that define their winery and winery concept, not their production level.
There are lots of ways to “get it done” as far as being a winery but I don’t believe that looking at output amount necessarily tells you much of anything about a winery and it’s soul.

Completely agree. Had their 2016 Willamette this weekend. Delicious, artisanal and fantastic value.

That’s totally ok Max, but we’ll have to send you some of the Riesling! Just for fun.Max S. wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 8:26 amRiesling and Chenin are really my game. I tried both Vincent's and Marcus' chardonnays, and while both were among the best I've had, neither hit that sweet spot that a Huet hits for me. Not a knock on Oregon by any means, it's just a personal taste thing.Brian S t o t t e r wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 8:22 amI was once an ABC riesling geek, but make exception to the fantastic OR chardonnays being made.
It can be a lovely grape here and you should also check out Ovum, Pierce, and Love & Squalor.

I'd definitely like to try it! I feel like I've heard mention of it but haven't seen it on the Goodfellow website... I think Riesling may overtake Chenin Blanc as my favorite white grape based on the recent German bottles I've tried.Marcus Goodfellow wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2021, 3:40 pm That’s totally ok Max, but we’ll have to send you some of the Riesling! Re: Teeny Tiny Wineries of... Oregon
We typically make about 50 cases of Riesling, and about 100 of the Field Blend. It’s around, but it’s very much my “pet” project and doesn’t get any marketing. Riesling is a wonderful grape in Oregon but you can’t really pay the bills with it(in the Willamette Valley.) But we take it seriously. It’s fermented in an old 820 liter Acacia puncheon, and stays on the lees through a longer, cooler ferment, then racked off lees and usually bottled around 8 months in.Max S. wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2021, 6:48 pmI'd definitely like to try it! Riesling and Chenin are two of my favorite white grapes, and while arguments can be made either way, I doubt I could pick a favorite.

Ayoub is usually 1,700-1,800 cases of production annually (though not in 2020, production is down to just over 1,000). I think Crowley is closer to 2,500 or 3,000 cases annually.

Let's get them both on the list.
Also, this weekend I was wondering why the whites from Cameron, especially the Clos Electrique, were not getting much attention... top shelf juice.

Todd, the list is updated, but you should edit the original post and put this at the top. Some people may not find it:

No need to talk about any of that. If you must focus on Cameron, talk about Abbey Ridge. Nothing to see with Clos Electrique...Todd Hamina wrote: ↑January 11th, 2021, 8:39 am Let's get them both on the list.

Not white, but John Paul thinks his Arley's Leap from Abbey Ridge is his best Pinot for 2018.

No need to discuss that wine either. Look to the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge or Reserve bottlings. They’re great QPRs!ChrisJames wrote: ↑January 12th, 2021, 6:50 pmScott Tallman wrote: ↑January 12th, 2021, 6:11 pmNo need to talk about any of that. The best advice I can give: Buy a case of the reserve and hide it. A few hundred bucks and a hiding place underneath the older gen in your cellar will reap pleasure.
The 2012 Cameron Reserve Pinot is stellar tonight. -$20 per bottle back in the day.

Thanks for including SchöneTal Cellars on the list. Started in 2014 and I had a nut of a mentor called Todd Hamina (Biggio Hamina Cellars). Many words can described Todd but I am forever grateful for his intelligence, patience (although minimal at times) and guidance. Never less than a 92 rating from Vinous. You da'man Todd.
