TN: 1937 Domaine Armand Naulot Clos Vougeot

  • 1937 Domaine Armand Naulot Clos Vougeot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (1/18/2018)
A wonderful, aged bottle of Burgundy with plenty of life and vigor. The nose has complex aromatics of seaweed, compost, leather, spice and a suggestion of dark fruits. It is intense and strong in the mouth with good detail and freshness. It builds through the palate and finishes with good cut. There are all sorts of savoury nuances once the wine is swallowed and it is a cerebral wine that titillates the senses.

Nice one mate, '37’s can be very good when they are on!

Dinner at home??

Still full-bodied and quite textural?

Absolutely William.

Had it in Hobart with the MT crew Paul. We missed you.

Nice post !
1937 can be very good, and many years from the 30ies can be good.

cool story. CV often gets a bad rap, “ too big, too many producers,” but I’ve had a few old gems from this Clos that justify the grand cru status. Great story.
