Larry brought this as a mystery last night:
- OjaiVnyd Syrah Calif 50% BienNacido/RollRanch (14.5%) 2000: Very dark color; rather peppery/blackberry/Syrah very slight funky/mousey/wet wool some smokey/toasty/oak slight earthy/dusty fairly complex nose; bit soft rather rich/lush strong smokey/toasty/oak strong blackberry/Syrah/blueberry bit peppery/black cherry light earthy flavor w/ light smooth tannins; very long soft/rush/rich strong peppery/blackberry/Syrah rather smokey/toasty/oak some complex finish w/ light smooth tannins; starting to show its age but still a delicious mature Syrah.
A wee BloodyPulpit:
- This was a one-off blend that Adam made in 2000 and never repeated. The wine was starting to show its age and not particularly distinguished for being a special Ojai Syrah.
