Opened this last night:

Dom.Ogereau AC: Coteaux du Layon SaintLambert (12.5%; CheninBlanc; www.DomaineOgereau.com) Vincent Ogereau Vigneron SaintLambert du Lattay 2002: Deep golden/burnished bronze color; very intense orangey/ripe/CB light botrytis/peachy/apricotty slight earthy/chalky rather high-toned complex CB nose; very tart/tangy very ripe/passito-like very orangey ripe/peach/apricotty/light botrytis slight chalky/earthy quite complex flavor; very long/lingering ripe/orangey/late harvesty light botrytis/apricotty/peachy ripe/CB/passito-like complex finish; a beautiful complex passito-like CB w/ light botrytis character; a steal at $24.00.

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. This is a producer I’ve never tried before. I have no idea why I bought this wine, other than CoteauxLayon wines are a pretty safe bet.
    I served this w/ the Loisen Crema Panettone that I got from DarrellCorti. Darrell regards this as one of the best Panettone producers in Italy. It was a superb pairing.
