Quick TN: 2002 Schrader Vieux-Os Ira Carter Zinfandel

Drinking WAY better than I figured it would. Candied cherries and rhubarb on the nose and palate with a slight hint of baking spice. Not gone (which I thought it might be), but drink up soon if you have any while it’s still offering some pleasure.

Thanks for the TN, Rich!!

I have wondered for years how the Schrader Vieux-Os Zinfandel was. It was always pricey, and it was common to find mention of it in wine magazines, but no one I knew had tasted one.

I wouldn’t say this was a great wine by any means but it was better than I expected (especially given the age). I’m sure the bottle alone turns people off, but it turned out to be a nice drink on a Monday night.
